PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Department of Public Works today announced nightly closures of Grant Avenue Extension in the Borough of West Mifflin starting Wednesday, July 6 at 8:00 p.m.  The closures are necessary to complete a bearing replacement on the Homeville Viaduct and should be complete by Saturday, July 9.  All work will be done between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.

Motorists should use the posted detour for the Homeville Viaduct Project during these times.  Traffic traveling northbound will be detoured using Homestead-Duquesne Road, making a left on Bettis Road. Motorists should then make a right onto Pittsburgh-McKeesport Boulevard, followed by a right onto Thompson Run Road. The detour then makes a left onto Homestead-Duquesne Road and a right onto Commonwealth Boulevard.  Traffic traveling southbound will follow the same detour in reverse.

This work is part of the $10 million rehabilitation project being done by Mosites Construction Company of Robinson, PA.
