PUBLIC  NOTICE

 

The Borough of West Mifflin Zoning Hearing Board will meet in Municipal Council Chambers, 1020 Lebanon Road on August 3, 2020 at 6:00 PM to hear the following cases.

Due to Governor’s Wolf’s Covid-19 restrictions, Public meetings are limited to 25 people. Due to the size of Council Chambers and the social distancing requirement of 6’ seating is limited. You may email any questions or comments for the applicants as they pertain to the individual cases. These comments will be read into the record.

CASE # ZHB 20-04

The request is for a variance to chapter 290 Attachment 3:2 will requires a 25’ front yard. Applicant is requesting the variance to allow the enclosure of an existing front porch which encroaches 6’ into the front yard. This enclosure would then be an addition.

This variance is to correct an error in the placement of the foundation of the house.

The request is for a variance to chapter 290-13 Definitions,

 

Accessory Structures.

A structure clearly and customarily subordinate to and on the same lot as the principal building and used exclusively for purposes constituting an accessory use, including, but not limited to, private garages, barns, utility sheds, greenhouses and buildings for housing household pets, and excluding signs, antennas, communications towers, communications facilities, telecommunications equipment buildings, co-location/shared-use communications facilities and power-mounted/shared-use communications facilities. Operable or inoperable vehicles or any portion thereof shall not be considered accessory structures.

 

Applicant is requesting to construct an Accessory Structure (30’x40’ Garage) without a principal structure (Single Family Dwelling) on the same lot. Applicant is also requesting a variance to Section 290-28 subsection D to the maximum size of an accessory structure on a lot with 12,659 square feet.

Applicant is requesting the variance to allow for the construction of a Patio roof which will extend into the required set back requirement. Applicant will then displace 4 parking spaces to allow for exterior dining. The parking spaces are to be relocated in adjacent lot.
