Community Development
The Community Development department is responsible for the enforcement of the Zoning and Land Development Ordinances of the Borough as well as the various ordinances and codes that deal with building construction and renovation, property maintenance, and fire and electrical standards.

Fire / Emergency Medical Services
The Borough of West Mifflin is served by four, strictly volunteer, fire companies who provide 24-hour-a-day-a-week service to our community. Emergency Medical Services are provided by Baldwin-Pleasant Hills-West Mifflin EMS.

Police
The West Mifflin Borough Police Department is staffed by full-time, State certified police officers who provide around-the-clock protection for the Borough. Visit the West Mifflin Police website.

Recreation
It is the mission of the West Mifflin Recreation Department to create recreational opportunities for growth and enhancement by developing diverse services and programs that promote citizen involvement and a strong sense of community while striving to increase the social, cultural, and physical well-being of its residents and visitors. Public Works
The West Mifflin Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the Borough's 74 miles of roadways, 30 miles of storm sewers, over 500 catch basins and outfalls, 24 recreation areas, traffic signs, and lights, performing snow removal on all roads within the Borough except private roads, and maintaining all Borough equipment. Public Works is also responsible for garbage collection, refuse collection, and recycling services.
