Public Works
The West Mifflin Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the Borough's 74 miles of roadways, 30 miles of storm sewers, over 500 catch basins and outfalls, 24 recreation areas, traffic signs, and lights, performing snow removal on all roads within the Borough except private roads, and maintaining all Borough equipment. Public Works is also responsible for garbage collection, refuse collection, and recycling services.
Residents can contact the department during their hours of operation or they can leave a message at any time and someone will return the calls.
Snow Removal
Considerable tax dollars are used for snow removal. Residents are asked to keep vehicles off of the streets and not to shovel snow back into the roadways. This helps maintain the safety of residents, police, and emergency personnel.
